The third Thursday of each month the office is open from 8:00 a. m. to 7:00 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE
Taxes can be paid in the exact amount owed (including interest and penalties where applicable) by mail or in person at the Chatham Town Hall. Please make checks payable to: Town of Chatham Tax Collector.
Tax payments can now be made online using credit or debit cards, or electronic checks. Convenience fees will be applied to each online transaction.
Tax payments are due by January 31, 2013 without penalty. After January 31 unpaid taxes will incur penalties of 1% interest for each month the balance remains outstanding. Rates are as follows: February..1%, March..2%, April..3%, May..4% Second notices fees will be added in April and May. Postmark applies.
May 31, 2013 is the last day tax payments will be posted by the Town of Chatham, after which time payments should be made to the Columbia County Treasurer. To make payment arrangements call the County Treasurer’s office at (518)828-0513. Payments made to the Columbia County Treasurer are not reflected on this site.
For your convenience we will accept partial payments of at least 1/3 of the total tax amount due. Any outstanding balance is subject to interest and penalties until paid in full.
