For January and February the Town Clerk/Tax Collector’s Office hours are:
Monday 1-4 pm
Tuesday 6-9 pm
Saturday 9 am – 12 pm.
Payments are accepted in Cash or Checks payable to Town of Gallatin Tax Collector.
For no penality charges, bills must be postmarked by January 31st. Beginning February 1st there will be 1% interest charged on the balance and will increase by 1% through May 31st. Second notices are sent out for April 1st and an additional $2.00 will be added to the balance for a notice fee. All tax bills are turned over to the Columbia County Treasurer’s Office on June 1st. Payments made to the County Treasurer will not be posted on the website.
Taxes may be paid in installments – with a minimum of 1/3 being accepted. Please note – interest will be charged monthly on any remaining balance.
